Evergreens

In this weeks watercolor class, we were given a tiny pencil sketch of a evergreen tree covered with snow. Sometimes my teacher does this. She wants us to use our imagination to complete a painting. I tried to remember all the techniques I'd learn in another class - creative drawing - and apply them to this painting. I was pleased with the results. Sometimes a painting works.

11x15 Lana 150lb. coldpress.

  1. You created a beautiful motif. I like the painting a lot. It has a beautiful winter atmosphere that warms your heart. Just right for the holidays.

Jan, in some old posts on your blog (can't find them anymore) you were talking about the paper you are using... If I remember right it was Lana paper? Would you be so nice to tell me exactly which type of Lana paper it is? I'd love to create something in the direction of your painting stye, but don't know where to begin ...

  2. In fact, you have reason to be pleased with this. The red spots and the yellow light brings it to pop.

    Good work!
